Calvary Church in Peterborough is hosting Alpha from Jan 14 to Apr 4. The course is an opportunity to explore the Christian faith. No question is too simple, too tough or too out there. Come and try it. Meetings are free to attend and will run from : 6:00-8:00pm. 705-876-1696

YGCFC Kickoff Night at the Shelburne Worship Center Feb 23 staerting at 7pm. This first night will consist of a concert put on by local and non local christian artists. Everyone is welcome. Alliston Christian Reformed Church is hosting their annual Ball Hockey Tournament on Saturday, Feb 25. Local youth groups are invited to participate with students Grade 9 and above. Cost is $50 a team and includes lunch. Everyone is guaranteed three games. Registration is at 8:45am and the tournament starts at 9am in the church parking lot, 28 Downey Avenue, Alliston. Proceeds support Alliston CRC youth group’s March Break Mission Trip.

World Day of Prayer is taking place Mar 3 at Unity United Church in Vasey. The service is free to attend and begins at 2pm. People in more than 170 countries will gather together to learn about, pray, and celebrate with the women of The Phillipines through the World Day of Prayer service prepared by them. 705-534-4294 

 

World Day Of Prayer Mar 3 at St.Mary's Church in Barrie is being hosted by the Catholic Women's League. this year country featured is awareness to the Phillipines and will run from 2pm to 3pm. 705-728-2985 

 

World Day of Prayer Mar 3 at St John Chrysostom Church in Newmarket A service written by the Women of the Philippines in Worship, Pray and Song.  Beverlyn Regalado-Basta who comes from Kalibo, Aklan in the Philippines, will offer a reflection on the them of this service.Please join us! Churches in the Southlakes Region are coming together Mar 8 for the Annual Prayer Breakfast in Newmarket. The event is meant to be an intercession for leaders, 1st responders, business, community, unity in the church - as we celebrate Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. The Bible for Missions Thrift Store in Barrie is now open at their new location on Big Bay Point Road and are looking for volunteers. Free Stuff for Daily Needs in Gravenhurst is fundraising to buy a 6 thousand dollar shipping container to hold and process donations of household items.
They assist over a thousand families in Muskoka/Parry Sound.

The Canadian Cancer Society Holland River Unit  is looking for volunteer drivers to take part in a program that drives York Region cancer patients from the hospital in Newmarket, to other medical facilities, for example, in Toronto.  They serve not only Newmarket Cancer patients, but also those in Georgina, Bradford, East Gwillimbury, Aurora, Richmond Hill, and King. BEREAVEMENT GROUP - Collier Street United Church in Orillia is offering support and hope in a group for adults who are grieving the death of a loved one.
