Grace Church in Newmarket is holding Over 18 - A Documentary Film & Discussion on the Effects of Pornography Mar 24 starting at 6:30pm. It's free to attend, and is meant to raise awareness about the negative effects of pornography on teens, families, and our community. Educate adults on the severity of this issue; equip parents how to discuss this issue with their teens; educate teens & adults on the dangers or porn & how to deal with addiction. 905-895-1119

The Reformed Episcopal Church is endeavoring to plant a new Parish in the Owen Sound area.  The public are invited to attend an informal question & answer presentation on Saturday, Mar 25 at the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library in the Board Room from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm.  The Ven. John Smith, Rev. Paul Luth and Lay Reader Allan Pearson shall be present to meet with and provide information, and answer your questions.  The Reformed Episcopal Church is a Faithful Anglican Witness and is a full member of the Anglican Church in North America.

 

St. James Anglican church in Felenlon Falls is hosting a FREE movie Mar 30 from 7-9 pm. Heaven is a provocative film. It features a searing performance by Cate Blanchett, seeking revenge for the death of her husband. She takes the law into her own hands after police ignore her pleas to arrest the man responsible for her husband's death and finds herself not only under arrest but falling in love with an officer. 705-887-2537

Kids against Hunger is hosting One Meals Meals Peterborough Apr 1 at the Sports and Wellness Center. Cost is 60 dollars and runs from 8 am - 4pm (3 - 2 hour shifts). Volunteers will gather to assemble meals, with a target of 200 thousand meals. connie_lorne@yahoo.ca

St. James Anglican church in Fenelon Falls is hosting a FREE movie Apr 6 from 7-9 pm. Jesus of Montreal, movie, follows a troupe of actors hired to perform a passion play at a Roman Catholic pilgrim site, who finds themselves drawn into the story of Jesus' last days. A Fundraiser for Heart to Heart Haiti is being held Apr 29 at the Edgar Community Hall in Oro-Medonte from 10am - 3pm. The Canadian Cancer Society Holland River Unit  is looking for volunteer drivers to take part in a program that drives York Region cancer patients from the hospital in Newmarket, to other medical facilities, for example, in Toronto.  They serve not only Newmarket Cancer patients, but also those in Georgina, Bradford, East Gwillimbury, Aurora, Richmond Hill, and King. BEREAVEMENT GROUP - Collier Street United Church in Orillia is offering support and hope in a group for adults who are grieving the death of a loved one.
