On the first Friday of March, then, in services all over the world that country becomes the focus of prayer and understanding. Through preparation and participation in the worship service, women worldwide learn how their sisters of other countries, languages and cultures understand the biblical passages in their context. They learn of the concerns and needs of those women and to empathize and feel in solidarity with them.

This year the country recognized is Nigeria.

A viewing of The Way Documentary. It looks at church tradition and compares it to scripture. With people sharing their testimonies.

The Cross of Christ is an original oratorio by composer & tenor Romulo Delgado and it is based on the seven last words of Christ on the Cross. This moving and powerful oratorio explores the salvific meaning of suffering, the richness of hope, the deepness of faith and the everlasting love of God for humanity. Acclaimed for its cinematic qualities and its rich ethnic musical influences, The Cross of Christ’s music provides the sacred text sublime magnitude and grandeur.

Holy Spirit Parish presents the Cross of Christ Oratorio based on the seven last words of Christ on the cross composed by Romulo Delgado.

Each month we will have a focused area of prayer with representatives in that area of influence praying and being prayed for. Let’s all come expecting our great God to do great and mighty things!

What To Expect At Prayer?

We start off with praise and worship
We have designated people to pray over the various areas of focus from the front
We have breakout prayer groups with a facilitator
We will rotate between each of these activities above throughout the night.

Truth About Sex – Parent Series is a 6 week, biblically aligned, research-based workshop equips and encourages parenting adults (parents, grandparents, guardians, church leaders, etc.) to guide and support their youth toward optimal sexual health (ideally avoiding sex outside of marriage), protecting their current and future wellbeing in a culture that sexualizes children. Mature teens, attending with a parent/guardian, have found the teaching beneficial, helping them to establish a healthy vision for this sensitive topic and effective boundaries.

Wasaga Adventure Park is hosting their annual Paintball for Poverty Charity Event to help those in need, locally and abroad.

Join us for an exciting event where our youth (grades 6- 12) will be invited to Worship, learn and have a tonne of fun together with over 500 other students from across Southern Ontario! World-class apologists Tim Barnett and Jason Jimenez will tackle some of the big questions our students are facing with regard to following Jesus and pursuing Truth in this current cultural climate!

At our Endless Impact Night, we will be covering the following three areas in an engaging and fun way:

-Review of past One Church activities
-Future One Church impact plans
-Pray for the local church
-Fundraiser update

There will be refreshments and treats, along with fellowship time after the event. This event is tied to our Endless Impact Challenge and Endless Impact Fundraiser.

About Endless Impact Challenge

Our Endless Impact Challenge is similar to the concept of ‘Pay It Forward.’ We wanted to have a unique challenge that would bring awareness on how we can collectively play a role in having an endless impact within our community. In the month of May, we will be encouraging people to come up with a creative way to show God’s love to your neighbour and to challenge 3 people to do the same. You can film the interaction or review the experience in a post for social media and tag One Church Barrie. We are also encouraging those to provide a donation to One Church Barrie’s endless impact fundraiser but it is not required to participate. Lets see the power of how a simple act of God’s love has the ripple effect to change lives and our community.

About Endless Impact Fundraiser

Our Endless Impact Fundraiser will be for the whole month of May. We are needing funds to run events such as The Big Give, operate programs such as City Serve, put promotional ads on the radio, or host guest speakers from other organizations.

As one of Canada’s largest Christian festivals, it draws thousands annually with its high-energy parade featuring Bible-inspired floats, marching bands, choirs, dancers, and worshippers lifting the name of Jesus in the heart of the city.
