EastRidge is an evangelical church that welcomes kids into a great summer camp experience. In 2022, EastRidge will focus on 6 weeks of kids summer camp for kids and youth programming between the ages of 5 (2017) and 13 (2009).

Our goal is to create engaging and growing camp opportunities for children and youth in the town of Stouffville.

POSITION SUMMARY:

• A Summer Program Staff member will provide assistance to the Children’s Ministry Director for weekly kids and youth camps at EastRidge Church.
• EastRidge Church will provide all training and ongoing coaching to the staff and encourage them to develop their gifts and passions as they relate to working with children.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrates a commitment to growing in Christ.
• Agreement with the statements of faith, vision and values of EastRidge Church.
• Compassion for children and teens and a strong desire to serve them.
• Experience in serving children and students.
• Experience and demonstrable skills in directing volunteers.
• A current police background check.

• First Aid/CPR training is an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans, leads, and implements camp programs for children.
• Ensure all Public Health guidelines and best practices are adhered to
• Provides high-quality and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.
• Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.
• Maintains a schedule for campers.
• Facilitates and creates lesson plans for daily activities as required.
• Organizes and leads various small and large group activities.
• Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance.
• Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
• Records and tracks camper’s dietary restrictions/allergies and ensures that the meals/snacks are distributed to them.
• Mediates any campers’ disputes.
• Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program, including knowing the whereabouts of your charges at all times.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Summer Program Staff will be directly accountable to the Children’s Ministry Director.

SUMMER CONTRACT:

• 12 weeks – Monday, June 13th 2022 to Friday September 2nd 2022
• 37.5 hrs/week, $16/hour
• Regular Hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm but may change depending on the program of the week. Hours may occasionally also include weekend work.
